FortisTCI Announces Staff Promotions During the First Three Months of 2018

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands (Thursday, April 26, 2018) – FortisTCI has announced a series of promotions of executives, technical and support staff across its Corporate Services and Operations divisions to support the Company’s management team and to help develop employees in various departments.

In the Corporate Services Division, Shernelle Capron has been promoted to Director of Financial Services and Supply Chain Management. In this new role, Mrs. Capron will oversee the company’s financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and analysis and has responsibility for the supply chain management function. Prior to this, she served as Manager of Financial Services.

Shatel Williams-Wilson, former Senior Internal Auditor, has been promoted to Manager of Internal Audit. She has responsibility for risk assessment, design, testing, reporting and corrective action management for all internal audit activities. Mrs. Williams-Wilson also focuses on advisory services that contribute to the company’s operational, compliance and financial objectives.

Talisha Simons, who until recently served as Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, has been promoted to Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. Her new responsibilities include advocacy, issues management and government relations. Miss Simons also directs the internal and external communication functions for the company.  

Seven employees in the Company’s Operations division have been promoted. Tarek Fulford is now a Mechanical Technician II, having previously served as Mechanical Technician I, and will also be assigned as a team leader. In his new role, Mr. Fulford will carry out preventive and corrective repairs to plant mechanical equipment and other company assets. Murice Francis assumes a new role as Electrical Technician III and is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective repairs to plant control and electrical equipment and other company assets.

On the Facilities Management team, Corelle Kelly has been promoted to Technician 1, with responsibility for performing routine maintenance and repairs to all facilities and equipment under his department. Mathew Williams is now Technician II and a team leader. As a team leader, Mr. Williams is responsible for leading and performing routine maintenance and repair tasks for all facilities and equipment under the responsibility of the Facilities Management department.

Junior Plant Operators Perez Lightbourne, Joseph Higgs and Linval Cox have been promoted to Plant Operators, Levels 1 and III respectively. As Plant Operator Level I, Mr. Lightbourne works under the direction of the Senior Operator to carry out all necessary tasks to ensure the functional operations of generation units and response to system abnormalities that may occur during shift duty.

Messrs. Higgs and Cox will assist the Senior Operator with effective systems controls, continuous system condition monitoring, efficient generation unit dispatch and timely response to system contingencies.
