FortisTCI Announces New Vice President of Strategic Planning, Innovation & Technology

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands (Wednesday, May 10, 2017) – FortisTCI (the Company) has announced the promotion of Rachell Salao Roullet to the role of Vice President of Strategic Planning, Innovation, and Technology, with effect from April 7, 2017.

In this capacity, Mrs. Roullet provides high quality executive expertise and visionary leadership in the areas of strategic planning; business innovation and developments; and information and communication technology

This is a new role for the Company, and comes as part of its ongoing organizational restructuring exercise, aimed at positioning FortisTCI to better respond to changing market conditions, rapid organizational growth and an expanded service territory across the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Mrs. Roullet previously served FortisTCI as Director of Innovation and Resources Planning, and in this role, she successfully developed the Integrated Resource Planning Program and was instrumental in launching the Renewable Energy Program. 

She has over 10 years of experience in the electric utility industry.  Prior to joining FortisTCI, she worked in the field of auditing and risk management with Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. (CUC) in the Cayman Islands and has been part of the consulting services of Deloitte. She has been deeply involved in organizational transformation and strategy work, including due diligence for company acquisition and Value Chain Analysis application. She was one of the founders and past vice chairman of the Board of The Institute of Internal Audit, Cayman Islands Chapter. 

Mrs. Roullet has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from University of the East. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Information Security Auditor, a Certified Internal Auditor. a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Six Sigma Black Belt Professional, and also received a Professional Certificate in Energy Innovation and Emerging Technology from SCPD Stanford University.

FortisTCI President and CEO Eddinton Powell congratulated Mrs. Roullett on her promotion, and remarked: “As we enter a new era in the energy business, our adaptation of current and future technology and our ability to innovate will make the difference in responding with agility to our customers’ needs. I am confident in Rachell’s ability and vision to help lead our company forward in this regard.”

Mrs. Roullet stated: “FortisTCI is an essential company in the Turks and Caicos Islands and a jewel within the Fortis Inc. group of companies.  It is an honor for me to serve and to be part of the leadership team of this great company.  I am excited for the opportunities ahead of this company in terms of business and technological innovations.”

Under its restructuring programme, FortisTCI has been re-organised into three main divisions: Corporate Services; Operations; and Innovation, Technology and Strategic Planning. The Company recently announced the promotion of Senior Vice Presidents Ruth Forbes to lead the Corporate Services Division, and Devon Cox as head of the Operations Division, along with responsibility for Grand Turk and the Sister Islands Operations.
