Provo Power Comapny (PPC) Ltd. & TCHTA Partner to Light up the Grace Bay Area

Provo Power Comapny (PPC) Ltd. & TCHTA Partner to Light up the Grace Bay Area 17Dec 2009

Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands (December 17th, 2009) - PPC Ltd has this month donated thirty streetlights to ensure that the Lower Bight, Grace Bay and Turtle Cove areas are well lit in time for the busy holiday season. The donation is in part the company's support of the island's number one industry and to assist with the lack of street lighting in certain areas of the popular tourism district.

Caesar Campbell, CEO of the Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association said: "The insufficient lighting in these communities, in particular the Grace Bay area has been a big concern among hoteliers since the decorative lights were damaged during the storms in 2008. Due to the high cost, the lights have not been repaired. PPC stepped in and filled the void, by installing lights on their poles and we are very grateful for their support, as that is not their area of responsibility.  And, because of the government's current financial situation, the TCHTA has agreed to pay for the electricity. These lights will definitely make a notable difference for residents and visitors who frequent these areas".

Allan Robinson, Vice President of Customer & Corporate Services at PPC said, "It is part of our ongoing commitment to provide support to the local community so we were very pleased to partner with the TCHTA on this initiative. We hope that these new lights will provide better visibility and a safer environment for both residents and visitors. It's important to have street lighting in busy areas especially during the winter months when days are much shorter".
