Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands, September 11, 2008 - Provo Power Company (PPC) Ltd. wants their customers who sustained the worst effect from Hurricanes Hanna and Ike to get back to some semblance of normalcy as soon as possible.
As the company tries to restore power to its customers, it is donating fifty(50) generators to the residents of South Caicos this week. The generators will be distributed one per household and on a first come basis. Safety tips on usage are also being provided.
PPC also took part in a relief effort coordinated by Graceway IGA and donated food and other essentials to the residents of South Caicos and Grand Turk.
Fortis, the Parent company of PPC Ltd has also extended an offer to the government to assist with electricity service restoration in islands not currently served by PPC.
