Provo Power Company (PPC) Ltd. Appoints New Vice President to its Senior Management Team 20Jan 2010

Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands (January 20th, 2010) - PPC Ltd has appointed a new Vice President to its senior management team to lead their new Business Information Technology Division.

Kevin Smith, PPC's Manager of Information Technology has been promoted to Vice President of Business Systems & Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the new division. Kevin, a Turks and Caicos Islander, has over 20 years international experience in IT and will assume executive responsibility for the new Business Systems and Information Technology Division, which will include material management, facilities management, security, information technology and business performance.

Over the past two years, Kevin has overseen the re-engineering of the IT function at the Company, including; providing IT training, the commissioning of new servers, the standardization of desktop devices, the establishment of a Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC), and the laying of an internal fiber optic network.

Eddinton Powell, PPC's President, & CEO said, "The creation of the new Business Systems and Information Technology Division is in recognition of the role IT plays in driving business performance enterprise-wide, reducing cost, and in improving customer satisfaction." With parents from Salt Cay and Middle Caicos, Kevin was schooled in the Bahamas and also at the Texas Southern University where he achieved his Electronics

Engineering Technology Degree with a minor in Computer Science. During his studies for a Masters Degree in Math, he also worked at the University as a Network and UNIX System Administrator where he taught Computer Science and Physics. During this time, Kevin also carried out Research and Program Development projects in the fields of Voice Recognition and GPS. After graduation Kevin became the University's Technical Specialist and then later worked as the Manager of Technical Services before being promoted to the Interim Director.
