Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands (Monday, May 11, 2009) - PPC Ltd has announced their commitment to maintaining the Bight Park in Providenciales through an annual donation of $12,000.
In addition, PPC's employees will organize 'clean up days' through the year, where employees will come together on weekends to clean up the area whether it is picking up garbage left on the park or spot painting where necessary.
Eddinton Powell, CEO of PPC said, "We are delighted to be supporting and assisting with the maintenance of the Bight Park. It's part of the company's ongoing commitment to be an active corporate partner in any project which contributes to the development of the youth and the advancement of our community. And, the recent certification of the park to Blue Flag status, is consistent with our environmental philosphy where our objective is to become ISO 14001 certified. My team and I are also looking forward to the clean up days as it gives us the opportunity to work in our communities outside of the work setting".
Wesley Clerveaux, Director of the Department of Environmental and Coastal Resources (DECR) was thrilled to receive the news of PPC's donation and commitment. "We are extremely grateful and appreciative to PPC for their support and partnership. This contribution and their staff participation in clean up activities will go a long way in helping us to maintain the park at the level we plan. We are always excited when the private sector gets involved in our programs, as the community effort is key to making them a success. So, we hope that other companies will follow PPC's lead".
