Provo Power Company (PPC) Ltd. Management Team Visit with Government Officials 08May 2009

Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands (Friday May 8th, 2009) - Today, His Excellency, the Governor, Gordon Wetherell; Premier, Honorable Galmo Williams and Minister of Utilities, Honorable Samuel Been met with PPC's executive team Fortis Chairman Stan Marshall, CEO Eddinton Powell and other PPC executives at the company's headquarters and later participated in a ribbon cutting for new engines.

The government officials were given an update on PPC's current and future capital expansion plans for the islands, which include the generation expansion project, the upgrading of its transmission and distribution infrastructure and information technology platform and systems.

The meeting continued at the Leeward Highway plant where officials were given a brief tour of the facilities, observing the recent expansions and participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the commissioning of two new engines. These two new Caterpillar units each have a name plate capacity of 3.3mega watts and combined generate 4,160volts of electricity. The introduction of these new engines will significantly increase the electrical energy capacity available to our service territory of Providenciales, North Caicos and Middle Caicos.

Eddinton Powell, CEO of PPC noted "The recent expansion of the plant is part of our approximately $150 million 5-year investment that we have been working towards to facilitate the country's rapid growth and support customer demands for electricity. PPC is committed to providing the most efficient and reliable service to our customers".

PPC's tremendous boost in infrastructure does not stop at power generation or transmission needs. The company also advised the visiting Government officials on its plans to launch the Company's environmental management systems program and wind energy-testing program to meet the increasing call for cleaner sources of energy regionally and globally. PPC represents a major first stop for the new premier who is just past his first thirty (30) days in office.
